VLT® FCM 300

The VLT® DriveMotor FCM 300 has reached the Limited phase of its lifecycle and is no longer in active production. The FCM 300 induction motor is no longer available as a spare part. Limited supplies of frequency converters and accessories are available as spare parts.

 

Limited: A drive entering the Limited phase has limited service options. Only a limited amount of spare parts, maintenance and repair services are available as long as materials can be obtained.  Danfoss cannot guarantee availability of the lifecycle services for technical reasons or within reasonable costs. Only existing service contracts with our customers will be supported.

Succesor VLT® DriveMotor FCP 106

VLT® FCP 106

The VLT® DriveMotor FCP 106 is the best alternative, designed for motor mount, focused on pump- and fan applications in HVAC segment but also fitting simple conveyor applications. It is not a 1:1 replacement for FCM 300. The motor is not included and the drive comes with different physical dimensions, wiring and parameters, but it is the successor at application level.

Please remember to order the FCP 106 Motor Adapter Plate as an accessory for motor mounting; or the FCP 106 Wall Mounting Plate for wall mounting.

Full flexibility in system design

For full flexibility in motor type, system design and energy efficiency, attach the standalone VLT® DriveMotor FCP 106 to your choice of induction motor or permanent magnet motor.

Installation is simple due to the integrated cooling system and an individually adjustable motor adapter plate. Alternatively, mount the VLT® DriveMotor FCP 106 close to the motor using the wall mount adapter plate.

The need for cabinets and long motor cables are eliminated enabling you to save costs however your system design looks.

Built-in features for smooth and efficient pump, fan and conveyor operation make this drive easy to integrate and commission for these dedicated applications.

Features and benefits

Drive lifetime is extended and harmonic load on the mains is minimized thanks to the built-in DC choke which reduces THDi to less than 46%.
 
Connectivity is flexible thanks to the integrated FC Protocol, Modbus and BACnet or optional Profibus communication protocols.
 

The drive operates reliably in wet, dirty and corrosive environments due to the IP66/Type 4X Outdoor enclosure and PCB protection.

Energy is saved and drive lifetime is extended due to the sleep mode.

 

High overload capability supports applications with a high starting torque.

The VLT® Memory Module MCM 101 facilitates helpful implementation of factory settings for OEM and machine builders, speeds up commissioning and simplifies drive updates.

Installation and maintenance costs are reduced since external components, such as control and monitoring devices, are no longer required.

Enclosures 
The drive meets requirements for enclosure class IP 20/Chassis. Optional IP21/NEMA 1, IP55/NEMA 12, IP 54/NEMA 12 or IP66 NEMA 4X. 

Smart logic controller
The VLT® AutomationDrive features logic control functions and a sequence control based on events and actions.

Safety 
The drive is delivered as standard with the Safe Torque Off (Safe Stop) function, in compliance with EN ISO 13849-1 Category 3 PL d and SIL 2 according to IEC 61508 low demand and high demand mode. STO can be extended to comply to PL e / SIL 3. 
The safety functions can be extended to include SS1, SLS, SMS, SSM, safe jog mode etc. with the VLT® Safe Option MCB140 Series and VLT® Safe Option MCB150 Series.

Hot pluggable LCP 
The Local Control Panel (LCP) can be plugged in or out during operation. Settings are easily transferred via the control panel from one drive to another or from a PC with set-up software. 

Coated circuit boards 
The VLT® AutomationDrive conforms to class 3C2 (IEC 60721-3-3) as standard. If used in especially harsh conditions it is possible to order a special coating that complies with class 3C3.

Ruggedized for extra protection 
The AutomationDrive is available in a ‘ruggedized’ version, that ensures that components remain firmly in place in environments characterized by high degrees of vibration such as marine and mobile equipment.

PM motor support 
Support for any non salient permanent magnet motor for better system efficiency in both VVC+ and FLUX mode.

 

Features and benefits

Intelligent heat management 
Cooling can take place in two ways to offer different sets of benefits. Forced convection cooling: A fan blows cold air through the cooling ribs of the aluminium base to remove heat. The channel is easily cleaned without touching electronics. Cold plate cooling: External cooling is possible through the back side of the aluminium base. Panel through mounting: Electronics inside cabinet - power heat sink outside cabinet. Duct cooling: Air from the control room – or from outside – cools the heat sink without contact to the electronics.
